Trigger

Give a Needlefish to the tourist and keep the Carrot he returns.

Use cover

Fight around trees or another solid obstacle so the roll has to reposition.

Hold the angle

Shoot from the safe side and do not chase a low-health boss into open ground.

Finish the unlock

Keep the fin and return it to the tourist for the Rocks coordinates.

The Pufferfish route is tied to the Desert island, often called Island 3. The cross-checked chain is Needlefish to the tourist, Carrot as bait, Pufferfish fin as the trophy, then the fin back to the tourist for the Rocks coordinates.

Prepare without wasting the trigger

Complete the Needlefish hand-in first.
Keep Carrot bait in a dedicated inventory slot.
Clear space for the boss catch and any reward.
Bring a weapon whose timing you can repeat under pressure.

Avoid starting the encounter while carrying other quest items. A clean setup makes it easier to keep the fin and finish the next hand-in.
